Neotropical Anthribidae
By Samanta Orellana (2022).
Anthribidae (Coleoptera: Curculionoidea) is a cosmopolitan family, with higher diversity in the tropics (Rheinheimer, 2004). Neotropical fauna is still poorly studied and, with the exception of few genera (Stenocerus Jekel, Hypselotropis Jekel, Ptychoderes Schoenherr), most groups still need extensive taxonomic revisions. Below is a summary of the Neotropical diversity of Anthribidae, to give a general idea of the family representatives in the region. Please check more groups under “Classification” on the left menu. This table is based on preliminar information in Rheinheimer (2004), Mermudes (2005), Mermudes & Napp (2006), Perger & Guerra (2016), Queiroz et al. (2017), Lopez & Mermudes (2018), Silva & Mermudes (2019), Rheinheimer (2020), Orellana & Barrios (2021).
